Introduction

In 1989, the Hong Kong Society of Endoscopy Nurses (HKSEN) was established as a Non-Government Organization (NGO) by a group of Hong Kong Endoscopy nurses. It had operated for 29 years with around 700 members from both public and private sectors in Hong Kong.

In 2019, HKSEN transformed to support the Establishment of the Asian Society of Endoscopy Nurses (ASEN).

ASEN is a non-profit making organization for the advancement of health and social welfare to the Hong Kong community for the relief of patients with endoscopy services for the benefit of Hong Kong community.

Mission

  • ASEN goes to promote advancement of the professional development of the endoscopy in Hong Kong and other parts of the world including but not limited to China, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Vietnam and Taiwan.
  • To promote professional knowledge and competence of members in endoscopy nursing practices through the organization of training programmes and other professional development activities.
  • To enhance professional knowledge, exquisite technique and international standards.
  • To escalate professional recognition by the Hong Kong Academy of Nursing.
  • To promote professional knowledge and competence of members in endoscopy nursing practices through the organization of training programmes and other professional development activities.
  • To promote Evidence Based Practice in matters relating to endoscopy nursing services.
  • To provide a platform of exchange of visions, innovative ideas, knowledge and experience about endoscopy knowledge among the hospitals in Asia.
